An Analytics-Driven Solution for an IoT Company

Client-
An IoT company based out of India and working with OEMs to position and sell IoT devices and applications
The requirement-
A way to analyze historical data and build prediction models for the productivity of plastic injection molding machines based on parts being manufactured dynamically
The Approach-
- Gathering the data.
- Understanding the parameters collected.
- Sorting the data
- Analyzing the data.
- Determining the correlation between cycle time and multiple parameters
- Recommendation of the prediction model to predict the cycle time for individual products based on historical data
The Solution-
Each machine operates independently and requires a custom solution to be built dynamically based on the product being manufactured so no size solution will fit in.
A Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) model was thus developed to address the challenges.
Advantages
- Can fit any machine data (support addition/removal of parameters)
- Each neuron can be configured for correlation parameter
- Unsupervised learning available post-initial training
- Fully configurable and adaptable to changes
Benefits
- Analyzed the Real-Time Machine Data from IoT Sensors to Build a Prediction Model for Productivity
- Built a Dynamic Machine Learning Model based on the Dynamic Data Model of Each Machine
- Achieved prediction rate between 52% to 75% for 6 different machines producing 10 different types of products
